John D. Anderson, CPA.CITP, CIA, MCP, MSA
Contact John: janderson@wsrbcpa.com
John has been the Information Technology leader at Weidmayer, Schneider, Raham, & Bennett since he joined the CPA firm in 1997, after completing a Masters Degree in Accounting from Eastern Michigan University. He has an extensive background in technology, having worked with desktop computers since 1982 and networked systems since 1993.
At WSRB, John quickly set to work "implementing" changes in the network to make his life easier by configuring all the network printers in the office to his workstation, which he had already optimized for better performance. This attracted the attention of the firm partners and soon John was responsible for helping clients resolve their technology problems too.
Today, John is taking the Information Technology Services Group to a larger audience, backed by his extensive experience in Windows NT4, Windows 2000, Windows 2003, Windows XP, Windows 2003 Small Business Server, Exchange,Lotus Notes/Domino, Cisco Pix FireWalls, SonicWall, Trend Micro, and Citrix, as well as dozens of accounting software packages used by CPA firms and their clients.
John is frequently a lecturer at national computer user meetings and is recognized for his contributions to ARNE (The Accountants Resource Network), an Internet bulletin board system sponsored by Thomson Creative Solutions. He has had several articles published in the CPA Technology Advisor, including, most recently, the November 2006 issue.
